the basic study period for all doctoral programs is 4 years, with a maximum duration of 8 years. the first academic year is primarily focused on coursework. the second academic year involves coursework, comprehensive examinations, and thesis proposal. the third academic year is dedicated to thesis writing. during this period, doctoral students are encouraged to study abroad or participate in joint training programs. the fourth academic year is for the preliminary defense and defense of the thesis.
ph.d. in labor economics
this program has four research directions: labor market theory and policy, income distribution and labor market research, human resource development and management, and labor relations and management. doctoral students are required to complete their second-year thesis before the end of the fourth semester, and their third-year thesis before the end of the sixth semester, with both being reviewed and approved by the academic committee. upon fulfilling all the requirements of the program, a doctor of economics degree will be awarded.
